SHOW TITLE: Do electric cars really help the environment?
My guest today is Real estate and film entrepreneur Joey Nittolo who has an incredible story. Joey was at the top of his game when a “spiritual awakening” moved him to give away much of the fortunes he had amassed over the years. Nittolo had not devoted much time to spiritual exploration, having worked hard to elevate his status after being raised on the streets of Hollywood to a working-class mom and a father who was a pimp and a heroin addict.
His wife and children were alarmed when he began hearing voices, in what he now describes as a “Kundalini awakening,” a sudden burst of energy which attuned him to hear and perceive things that others could not.
Nittolo’s wife hospitalized him “for his own good,” but when he experienced what the doctors defined as psychosis, it led him to explore within, and become a more positive person. Through meditation and yoga, he regained equilibrium, and became compelled to leave his life and business to travel to India and study.
After returning, Nittolo founded “The Space Between,” serves to expand conversation around mental health, awareness and spirituality. The organization’s new podcast series features interviews with celebrities, authors, and thinkers who may have experienced a similar awakening hoping to encourage a dialog between mental health practitioners and patients. He sees a potentiality between mental health crisis and a movement to focus on a deeper spiritual awareness.
